![]() ![]() ![]() I'll describe later on my reasons as to why's that as well as my most recent adventure through the region of Johto, but if you want a TL DR version of it, it's probably because of how I spent my childhood growing up around Pokémon Crystal. While I started my Pokémon journey during Gen 1 with my copy of Pokémon Blue, Gen 2 is the one I've come to love the most out of the 9 existing generations so far. Before we knew it, Pokémon was all we could talk about at school and with our friends and all I can tell you is it was magical. The games on the GB/GBC and N64, the anime, the TCG, the movies and a lot of merchandise suddenly appeared in our lives and took the world by surprise. The closest I can do to put it into words is saying "you had to be there to see it", but that undersells it to be honest. I find it hard to describe how huge Pokémon was at the end of the 90's and beginning of the 2000's. Pokémon is a beloved franchise all around the world a lot of people in this forum grew up with, so I'm sure some of you might have felt nostalgic when you heard the news. When I read about Ash retiring from the anime, I felt all sort of different emotions rushing through my head. ![]()
